Batman vs. Robin BATMAN: WHAT TO expect IN 2021!

Currently, one of the more talented actors of his generation is going to play Morbius the Living Vampire, Jared Leto. Morbius is a scientifically created vampire. Back in the day, I thought it was a very original take on vampires. These scientific bloodsuckers have some of the weakness of vampires, but not all. Morbius has super strength, speed, and flight that is a match for Spider-Man. fortunately for Peter Parker, he won’t be taking on Morbius anytime soon. First, we get to see Jared Leto play Morbius in a possible origin story movie due out 2020. The set photos released last month were interesting and go a long way toward confirming the main protagonist Loxias Crown. who apparently becomes the villain Hunger. It sounds suspiciously like the Venom storyline all over again; but what the hi we get to see one of Spidey’s top foes on the big screen. Does this pasty parasite prove profitable?

Amazing Spider-Man #101

It was only a matter of time before Web-Head tangled with a vampire. this time the bloodsuckers are of the scientific variety. No, I am not talking about plastic surgeons. The outstanding Spider-Man #101 is the first appearance of Morbius The Living Vampire in Marvel. He was created by the genius of Stan Lee and Roy Thomas (script) with Gil Kane covering the art and I suppose the vicious pimp-slap on the front cover.

The long-term results:

Grade 9.8 $12,000 FMV returns positive +108.3%

Grade 9.6 $5750 FMV returns positive +176.6%

Grade 9.2 $1500 FMV returns positive +77.9%

Grade 8.0 $775 FMV returns positive +110.7%

Grade 4.0 $230 FMV returns positive +104.9%

Magnificent is the only word I can use to describe the long-term returns (up to 10,000 sales to yr. 2000). These trends would wake the dead, and make them sit up and run Bay-to-Breakers (Bay area 12K). Yep, long-term Morbius definitely has staying power.

The short-term results (first 5-months of 2019):

Grade 9.8 returns positive n/a

Grade 9.6 returns positive n/a

Grade 9.2 returns negative -15.5%

Grade 8.0 returns positive +6.2%

Grade 4.0 returns negative -11.1%

The short-term returns are lackluster, to say the least. kind of like enjoying Christopher Lee hiss at people dressed up as Dracula; credibility shattered almost beyond repair. If past is prologue; than you can assume the comic will pay off over the long run. The run-up to this movie next year will contain a terrific deal of hype. If you own it and purchased as a speculation in the last three years; then just before the movie opens is a good spot to sell outstanding Spider-Man # 101.

The tomb of Dracula #1

This is the first appearance of Dracula, Frank Drake with Neal Adams cover art. This is a big key but most especially a nice piece of early Neal Adams cover art. It is also part of the re-emergence of horror during the 70s with a relaxing of the Comic Code conditions. Suddenly, everything was open to comic book interpretation. The tomb of Dracula #1 is one of those books created in 1972 by Gerry Conway and Roy Thomas (script).  The series ran for 70 issues and featured vampire hunters: Harold H. Harold, Rachel Van Helsing, Frank Drake, and Quincy Harker. later on, this series would give birth to a wonderful superhero: Blade.

Long-Term returns:

Grade 9.8 $1650 FMV returns positive +10.3%

Grade 9.2 $290 FMV returns positive +21.7%

Grade 6.5 $120 FMV returns positive +25.8%

Long-Term results have encouraged and it is only a matter of time before this Bronze Age horror, takes off like a “bat out of Hell!”

Michael Versus Morbius: The Neverending StruggleIf you have followed my blogging, you are probably aware that I have a bias against Jared Leto.  It is not personal, it is just that I hate the fact that he is probably going to ruin Morbius, and therefore tank all related comic values.  We finally got a taste…
